So getting ready to a little project here going to mount this light that I picked up at an antique shop was ten dollars came without the base plate to go up against the wall, so I went to Lowe's and I got one of these. That's gonna go on wires, gonna go through there. That will attach rack it up in the fixture will come down with a couple screws hold everything in place and address it up. I'm gonna have a little medallion to go up and that's where it's gonna go so well. Love gets started. One thing before you do any electrical work make sure you turn the breaker off that affects the piece you're working on turn it off at the box.
That way, you can be sure that you're not going to get shocked, don't rely on turn in to switch off on the wall, because that's not always a hundred percent, I mean so just about got the old fixture down the power is off, get it completely pull It off there and we'll get the medallion up in place. There are a lot of medallions up with a couple of screws and some construction adhesive holding it up in place. The plate here will cover up their screw heads, so you might even see him soon to the next step.
One thing I had to change out was these bolts that come down here that hold this plate on, didn't: take into account the width of this medallion, which pushes this out a little bit. So I got to put some longer bolts in there and this hugger, like that. Got something to screw into there. I should work that pretty good now, one of my favorite tools to use for any wire stripper is this. I scrap here just put it in the wire in there clamp down and it strips it right off nice and clean useful tool to have on these wires here trying to figure out which goes to walk the black to the white and all the one side will Have writing on it, and that will be the that connects to the black, can't really see it too. Well, but one side loved writing on it. The other side will be playing and we just attach the black to the side.
With writing. So here's a close-up of wire to be wired to the writing the side with the writing on it goes to the black the other side, which has a rib running down it down the length of it that will go to the white and there's no writing on That side, so here's the end result, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, went and bought some new bulbs. I don't know if you can see these yellow tinge to them. They call on Sylvania, spun glow, there are six bulbs up there, so went with 25 watts. Each gives off just the right amount of light happy with how it turned out with the medallion behind it and overall, not too bad installation happy with how it turned out.
