So we're gonna replace this with these cur mason jars and one thing you want to keep in mind when using these type jars have to use LED light bulbs. So that they don't overheat and explode okay, now, with the light bulbs, here's your normal light bulb and these will not fit into a pint-sized jar. What we found are these well, these are, they still have. The bigger screw in they've got a much smaller bulb like this and they're LED see the LED here's the box. So then you can get the light off. You know, get the bulb size and everything from that. Here are the tools I'll be using for this project, I'm going to start with a sharpie so that I can draw out my circles. I will use this punch to perforate holes all around the circle.
I'll use this screwdriver to knock out in between the holes till I get the circle completely made out I'll use my dikes to cut around make little slits all the way around, and you can use a pair of needle nose to bend them out. You can also use your dikes for that, so you don't have to have these, and you can also use your dikes for a hammer on this occasion. What you want to do is get to the size of your light socket and draw that line around your lid. First, okay: here I have the what represents the outer the size of the outer side of the socket inside of that I'm going to make another circle about almost a little over an eighth of it, a quarter of an inch.
I mean little over an eighth of an inch like that and we're gonna knock we're gonna perforate holes and cut this circle out. Okay, now you can see we have our perforated holes here inside the diameter of the light socket and now we're going to knock those out with this screwdriver. Okay, we now have our hole and we have our line and now we're going to take our diet. We're going to cut up two or a little past our green line. Okay, now we have our little slits cut all the way around now with these all cut.
This is how it's going to work it's going to come in here and then it's going to go on your light. Socket-like this, so you're gonna want these slits to bend up this way. Okay, you can see that when this goes in your thing, the light socket will be here, it'll slide on it, and these things will be smaller than the hole and just squeeze on to it, and they won't allow it to back off once this once.
