Installing this 14 inches dimmable LED ceiling light. I picked this up at Costco today for $ 29.99 and on the package. You see that it only uses 28 watts. It puts out 1800 lumen for the brightness, and the real life is 35,000 hours and the color temperature will give you a warm white light. The finish on this is a brushed nickel finish on the bottom of the package. It gives you the color temperature and it puts out 3000 Kelvin and that resembles like your traditional incandescent bulb for indoor use.
So it has a bit of a yellow hue to it, compared to your regular fluorescent light, which is like pure white on the back of the package. It shows you what the OED look like. It consists of 72 high output LED and the dimension on this is 14 points 1 to 5 inch in diameter and 5.5 inches in height, and it comes with a limited five years warranty. So let me show you the light that we'll be replacing, and this one you're looking at uses three CFL bulbs and already took off the glass bowl.
So I'm ready to take this out and then put in the LED one. The next thing is to loosen the two screws right in the middle here on this light fixture, all you have to do is loosen it after you loosen the screws just give a little twist and they'll come out, go ahead and disconnect these wires and, of course, Make sure your breaker is off, so you don't get electrocuted, so I've been blocked the light fixture. The nickel finish is metal here, and this diffuse is glass on the back side.
You have your neutral ground and a hot wire and comes with an installation guide and also some screws. So the first thing you want to do is remove the diffuse here and have an assistant hold the metal part on the side. Here then turn this counterclockwise and then this will come off, and then you see the holes for mounting this and also the array of surface mount LED. That's here. I just want to point out that you see the two holes right here. These are actually wider than what I have on the outlet.
So what you need to do, if you run into this, is to remove this screw, is holding the LED driver and then release the clip. And then you see two additional mounting points here, and these two other mounting points are more narrow than these two right here. So go ahead and line up the screws you have and then tighten up the screw after you tighten the screws and go ahead and push these wires back up in the hole and then click the LED driver back in and reinstall the Phillips screw.
That holds the LED driver, so let's test it out without the diffuse now I'll install the diffuse back on just turn this clockwise. So let me show you with the light off and I'm gonna, throw it on right. Now, it's pretty good! I think the brightness is nice, the color it's a little bit wider than your regular incandescent bulb, but it's definitely nice to have an energy efficient, LED ceiling, the light here so anyways.
