This one is missing a globe. It looks like it's got a super fancy globe so, instead of ordering a $ 60 globe for a $ 20 light, we're going to go ahead and change it, let's get to it. So the first thing we're going to want to do is kill the power at the wall switch there we go remove the mount screws. This one only had one in it and a groundwater. That's not been connected. We're going to disconnect our black first cap that for safety and our white there we go now we're ready to put the fixture in it's going to remove the existing box screws here now we're going to be installing a light fixture with this globe on it.
Now my bracket has inside holes and outside holes. I don't know why they put the outside holes on there, but these go in the inside holes as we need them to be the same distance with these two holes to secure our light fixture if those threaded in the inside hole next we're going to take our Light fixture and we're going to install the ground - that's this copper wire here now this one's an old house, so it's only got a two-wire system on it, so we're going to need to take the ground around it to our new bracket and it's a metal Box, so we should be good to go open up the ground, screw a little wrap the ground around the screw and tighten it down.
Next we're going to wire the light. All these whites get wired to the white. I like to go ahead and wrap the new fixtures first and then wire them into the beat get about three turns on this. You can also pull the wire nut, pull the wires just to make sure they're, good and snug. Lastly, we wire our black. Now we're wired take your wires put them up in the box. Now we're ready to run these screws through our light. Fixture they've got a little wide holes on a wide hole with a little slot, so we're just going to kind of finagle them up.
There find the hole and twist now secure the screws you can push up on the light fixture just to make sure you get it good and secure perfect. Now we take our little threaded rod into the hole, remove the nut, install your bulbs, your energy, efficient bulbs. I mean none and that light fixture is good to go. So that's it. You just installed a new ceiling, mount light fixture and you saved yourself a few bucks in the process.
