The existing light fixture with a ceiling fan. We're going to give you some tips and show you some things along. The way so sticks around we'll show you how it's done. This installation is a supplement to your instructional guide that comes with your fan. All fans are different and these instructions may differ from your installation warning risk of electrical shock or injury may occur. If you are not comfortable working with electrical wiring, please hire an electrician. Here are some of the tools you may need. First, start by shutting off the power to the room.
You will install the fan in remove any light bulbs in the old fixture, then unscrew, and remove the fixture from the ceiling and disconnect the wiring next unscrew and remove any brackets holding on the old fixture, because this is an older home. The installation of this fan requires some modification to the ceiling. If there is no existing outlet box or the current box is not rated to hold a fan, you will need to replace it. This install has no existing fan box, so we will need to cut out the ceiling to fit the box, trace the shape of your outlet box and begin to cut out the ceiling to cut through the plaster on this ceiling.
We will be using a powered saw if you have a drywall ceiling. A drywall saw will do the job once the hole is cut, ensure the box will fit inside this particular box. Uses expandable thread supports that wedge against the joists from side to side, insert the threaded support bar and Center it between the joist and the hole. Once centered twist the support to wedge it against the joist insert the bracket and fan box. Then tighten down the screws for this fan provided by craft made. We will use a short down rod for this installation, insert the fan's wiring through the down rod.
Then thread the down rod on the fan, insert the metal pin into the down rod and secure with the clip next tighten down the set screws around the base of the down rod to secure it slide on the yoke cover in the canopy on the down. Rod then slides the hanging ball and insert the stop, pin and raise the hanging ball. So the slots aligned with the stop pin then tighten the set screw at the ceiling.
